National Disney Day 2021 | Mollie & Fred

Walt Disney Day falls on the first Monday of December each year, we celebrate a history of animation which most people have grown up watching. Disney is known and watched all over the world and the man behind all of the magic is Walter Elias Disney (born 1901) he created Mickey Mouse character whilst sketching on a bus in 1923 and his first business venture ‘Laugh’O’Gram Studios went bankrupt which meant he was left with only $20 to start over, this took him directly to Hollywood where he spent his time creating a few well known characters: Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald Duck.
He then between 1940’s and 1960’s went on to develop feature-length cartoon such as snow white and the seven dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella and Mary Poppins. They were very successful as he won 22 Oscars for his role as American Animator, Film Producer and Voice Actor. His franchise grew even larger as he opened Disney theme parks in 1955 and by 2018 the park had over 157,3 million visitors from around the world.
The massive empire that Walt Disney created is truly magnificent which is forever learning and evolving. The majority of people in the world grew up watching the classic Disney films like Cinderella/The Lion King and even the newer films like Frozen/Moana; no matter which films you grew up with all of the films end up reminding you of your childhood somehow.
