Top UK attractions to visit during the Easter Holidays

It may seem like the last school holidays have just ended, yet the Easter Holidays are just a chocolate egg throw away. Thinking about what to do with your little ones to keep them entertained may seem daunting, but at Mollie & Fred we’re here to help.

Days out with the kids don’t have to be just fun for them – we have compiled a list of five top places to visit over the Easter break which will keep even the adults amused! Take a look at our picks;

Chocolate Story – York

York’s Chocolate Story is an entertaining and informative guided tour through the history of York’s most famous chocolate-making families. You’ll discover chocolate’s origins, how to make it and even how to taste it like an expert.

You’ll also uncover a host of surprising secrets and fascinating facts behind York’s greatest chocolate products, from the Chocolate Orange to the globally famous KitKat. Once you’ve explored chocolate making and its history, you can even shop for and indulge in chocolate to your heart’s content. This is an ideal Easter holiday day trip for the whole family!

National History Museum – London

The National History Museum is something every child should experience at least once. There is so much to see that education won’t seem boring – it will be the most fun they’ve ever had learning!

For those kiddies who can’t get enough of dinosaurs, this is a fantastic place to take them. The place is literally littered with ancient dinosaur artefacts, as well as of course has huge reconstructed skeletons built all around the museum. This is an ideal day out for the whole family, from quizzical and excitable three year olds, to curious and knowledgeable 80 year olds.

LegoLand – Windsor

With the recent Lego movie being such a roaring success, kids are going to be head over heels with the Legoland Windsor resort. This child orientated theme park consists of a mixture of Lego-themed rides, models, and building workshops – perfect for a fun filled day out!

Easter Hunt – The Lake District, Cumbria

This is the big one for Easter lovers! The World of Beatrix Potter will hide 100 big unique eggs all over Cumbria – in the countryside, in gardens, on lakes, everywhere. The hunt will start on March 31st and end when all the eggs are found.

Every egg has a prize attached, and 10 of them have special prizes including Lake District holidays. This is a fantastic day out, which will not only entertain your competitive little ones, but may also bag you a fantastic holiday!

Treasure Trails – London

With the treasure hunts, spy missions and murder mystery routes leading you through a variety of London locations, you’ll be sure to discover views, buildings, parks and places you never realised existed.

The Treasure Trails will take you to the most beautiful, interesting and historic locations in London. It’s up to you when you do the Trail and who with. You can do our treasure hunts as a solo adventure or in a group with family, friends or work colleagues. Let the fun commence!
